Today, Monday, January 26, 2009, is the first day of the Chinese New Year. Yesterday was a big day to plan and prepare for the new year. Opening all windows and doors, cleaning out all the corners and dust spots and rolling 9 fresh oranges over the hearth are some things we did here.

The Year of the Ox is about persistence, moving along in a deliberate manner. In this year of recession, it’s right in line with what is needed. Not a time to be taking risks, or starting new things. Take some time to see what you want to let go of, and what you want to bring in.

I was hoping to start our classes today, but I have 3 weeks of gigs away from Portland, so it looks like we will be easing into the New Year. So far, the Renewal Class is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM. Then, we have a tentative Yoga class at 10 AM, taught by Susan Banyas. There is a sacred dance community meeting coming up. I am also scheduled to teach Massage classes at PSU. Please view our calendar for the most up to date schedule of classes and events.

We have a beautiful screen and projector installed in the studio. I am looking forward to showing videos and having discussion groups afterwards.

Joanne Doussea, a healer visiting from Los Angeles said, “Your meeting room is a true work of art. You did a great job, John.”
