John William Johnson will lead a medicine bowl meditation to ground us and bring you home to your body.
Then John Conley will lead Kirtan, with Chelsea and her wonderful voice supporting our response.
A donation of $8-15 is requested. A portion of the proceeds will go to Jesse, fellow dancer Joe McLoughlin’s son, who is paralyzed from the neck down.

My friend Chelsea Bennett and I will be hosting a kirtan at Oasis Healing Arts on Friday, April 24th. John William Johnson is graciously hosting us the night before the dance with Vinn Marti.
I will be selling my new CD, “Bow to the Inner Heart,” which is also available online at CD Baby. I plan to donate 30% of CD sales to Jesse McLoughlin, a young man who is paralyzed from the neck down. He was shot by a hunter about a year ago. As Jesse struggles with tasks I take for granted – breathing, for example – his bravery humbles me and puts my own small problems in perspective. His father, Joe, one of my heroes, is a member of our dance family. You have seen him at the Conduit, or SomaSpace with Paula, or at Sacred Circle. Also, the CD will be sold for a donation. If you have $2, give that. If you have $20, give that. For more details about the kirtan, see below.
You may not know Chelsea. But I do. She has a beautiful voice and she loves to chant. She is kind, gentle, funny, and gorgeous. Actually she reminds me of me! Our friend, Lala Lenore, who I imagine is chanting in Mexico where she is studying weaving and sun bathing, introduced us formally. We had met at the Conduit, but I kept forgetting her name. Anyway, after Lenore introduced us, and I remembered her name, it was “chant” at first sight. This will be Chelsea’s first kirtan on the keyboard side of the harmonium. So, please, if you can, come and support all of us – Jesse and his family, me, Lenore in spirit, and what’s her name.
Bow to the Inner Heart was recorded live at Centered City Yoga, owned by the beautiful, wise, witty, and hot D’ana Baptiste, in Salt Lake City. We had a wonderful and joyous time at that kirtan, and I’d like to think that the joy comes through on the CD.
